Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year is released by American singer and artist, Demi Lovato.

I read this book when I was at my lowest earlier this month and even though one can argue that it’s not a regular reading experience but rather a calendar with uplifting advice to make you smile everyday – 365 days a year, this reading experience really (!) helped me.

“I think scars are like battle wounds – beautiful in a way. They show what you’ve been through and how strong you are for coming out of it.”

It is very inspiring to read what Demi has gone through and how honest and mature, she talks about all of this in her book. I am not even a fan of Demi’s, but this made everything change. I really respect her as an artist, but obviously as a human-being.

She shows with her book that no one is perfect and that imperfections make you who you are. I like how the book is made with a quote from a famous writer or influential person, Demi’s own thoughts about this following quote and then a goal for the day. She has clearly spent time picking quotes that have helped her and tell something about who she is. My favourite part is her own quotes and thoughts.

Demi is an interesting and inspiring person that does not allow anything to be something we can’t talk about. Going through bullying, eating disorder and psychological health problems, she reminds that everyone is human. Everyone is indeed part of love and that everything will get easier day by day.

“Staying Strong”: 365 Days a Year is indeed a book that will help you on your darkest days and will make you smile when you once again find the light…
