Mention three fun facts that your fans maybe don’t know about you.

1. I’m shy and have a hard time with crowds. Signings are tough for me, but I’m learning how to manage my natural reservedness and come out of my shell a bit more!
2. I love doing furniture renovations and DIY projects. It’s relaxing to me and another creative outlet!
3. I used to be a graphic designer in my “previous life.”
When did you know that you wanted to become an author?
I wrote a blog back in 2013 and lots of people who read it told me I should write a book. I’d honestly never even considered such a thing before but decided to give it a try and the rest is history. 🙂
How long have you been writing? And what started it?
My writing career actually started on a very sad note. We lost our baby girl in 2012 and I started writing as a sort of therapy to work through some of my grief. It was therapeutic, and started me on a whole new journey. I like to think that something good came from such a devastating loss and that there’s a lot of her (Darcy Rose) in my work. ❤
Who discovered you? (Did you contact publishing houses? How was the process?)
I was self-published until last year, so if anyone discovered me, it was bloggers and readers of self-published books. They are the ones who gave me my start. ❤
How many books have you published (so far)? And which genre?
Twelve! All in the contemporary romance genre.
Why this story? What made you choose this specific theme?
My next book releasing, titled More Than Words, takes place in France. My husband and I went on our honeymoon there and also made a recent trip. The country is so inspiring to me, I knew I had to set my next story there. 😀 As far as the theme, I’m not sure . . . the characters just began speaking to me and the idea really took root in my mind and my heart. (To tell the theme would actually be sort of a spoiler). 😉

What inspires you to write? Which authors have inspired you? (Music, art, things in life?)
Everything artistic inspires me—music, art, even antique furniture! It all tells a story and sometimes one so vivid, I have to write it down! 🙂 I don’t know that I’ve been inspired by specific authors, but I’ve always loved Stephen King for his unparalleled imagination and the sensitivity of his characters. Nature inspires me too and I use themes from it a lot in my novels: flowers, sunsets, sunrises . . . 🙂
What is the message of your book? How should the reader interpret it?
I suppose the message of More Than Words is that each of us fight our own unique battle in this life and we must try to face it fiercely and with great courage.
How do you identify with the character(s) in your book?
I identify with Jessie’s love of fairy tales, and with her big imagination. I identify with her desire to save Callen from himself, but just like I’ve had to learn, so must she realize that some battles must be fought alone.
What are you currently reading?
I’m not reading right now because I’m in the middle of writing my 11th Sign of Love novel. I wish I could read while I’m writing, but it just messes with my head! 😀
Mention 3 book titles that you wish to recommend.
Classic: The Count of Monte Cristo
Classic: Wuthering Heights
The Bird and the Sword by Amy Harmon
When is your next book going to be published?

June 12, 2018. More Than Words is being published through Grand Central Publishing.
